Questions and answers about Nimbus

Getting started

What is Nimbus Pages?
A contact hub you own. You create one card with your info, decide who sees what, and when something changes — a new number, job, or address — you update your card once. Everyone you’re connected with gets it automatically.
How do I create an account?
Click Create account at nimbuspages.com, or accept an invite link someone sent you. If you were invited, your card is already started — check it, fix anything, choose a password, and you’re in.
Do my contacts need a Nimbus Pages account?
No. You can keep your whole address book here whether or not anyone else joins. Automatic updates only happen between two members — but your list is yours either way.
Is Nimbus Pages free?
We’re finalizing our pricing and will post it right here before launch.
Does it work on my phone? Is there an app?
Sort of — but not one you download from an app store. Nimbus runs in your browser, and once you’re signed in you can add the Nimbus icon to your phone or computer so it opens full-screen with its own icon, just like an app. iPhone: open Nimbus in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. Android: open it in Chrome, tap the ⋮ menu, then Install app. Computer: click the install icon in the address bar. When you’re signed in there’s also an “Add the Nimbus icon” option under your name. No App Store, nothing to download.

Your information & privacy

Will Nimbus Pages sell my information?
No. We never sell your personal contact information. That’s a written commitment in our Terms of Service, not a marketing line.
Who can see my information?
Only the people you choose, and only the fields you choose — field by field, per relationship level. Family, friends, acquaintances, and business contacts can each see different things.
Can I show my home address to family but not to business contacts?
Yes — that’s exactly what the visibility settings do. Every field (each phone, email, address, birthday) can be shown or hidden per relationship level.
What happens if I lower someone’s relationship level?
They stop getting fields above their new level going forward. What you already shared isn’t yanked out of their address book, but nothing new above their level flows to them.
What are private notes?
Notes only you can see. Never shared with the contact, never searchable by anyone, never leave your account.
Can I delete my information?
You can delete any contact, any field, or your whole account. Deleted contacts sit in the trash for 30 days in case you change your mind, then they’re gone.

Invites & connections

How do invites work?
Open a contact’s card and click Invite. They get an email or text with a link showing the info you have for them. They fix anything wrong, hit Submit, and your copy updates — no account required for them to do that.
What’s the difference between a contact and a connection?
A contact is an entry in your address book — yours alone. A connection is two members linked together, so updates flow automatically between them.
Someone invited me — what do they see about me?
Only the information they already had for you; the invite page is their copy of your card. Submitting corrections updates their copy. Creating an account is optional.
What if someone removes info when they update their card for me?
You get notified and choose: keep the old info in your copy, or accept the removal. Nothing disappears without your say.
Can I invite lots of people at once?
Yes — bulk invite lets you send invites to many contacts at once.

Importing & syncing

Can I import my existing contacts?
Yes, three ways: a file export from Gmail or Outlook (CSV), an Apple/iCloud export (vCard), or by connecting your Google or Microsoft account and pulling contacts in directly.
Does it sync back to my Google or Outlook address book?
Yes. When a connection updates their card, Nimbus can push it into your Google or Outlook contacts so your phone’s address book stays current too. You can turn this off per connection.
What about Apple Contacts?
Apple import works today via vCard file export. Live two-way sync with iCloud is planned but not built yet.
I imported and got duplicates — now what?
Use Clean up. It finds duplicates and likely problems, shows you each match, and lets you merge them — nothing merges or deletes until you approve it.

Search

What is Advanced Search?
Search across everyone you know — and everyone they recommend. Looking for a plumber? You’ll see people you know who match, businesses your connections recommend, contacts who may have the answer, and sponsored results, clearly marked.
Why fill in skills, services, and company details?
The more complete your card, the easier you are to find. If you’re a ski instructor and someone in your network searches “ski instructor,” a complete card is what puts you in their results.
What are sponsored results?
Businesses can advertise in the fourth search column. Sponsored results are always labeled, and advertisers never receive your personal information.

Businesses in your contacts

Can I add businesses to my contacts?
Yes. Businesses get their own card type — company info, the people there, phone, website, address — and you can mark a business as recommended to your connections.
What does recommending a business do?
Your connections see that recommendation when they search for what the business does. It’s word of mouth, organized.

Account

I forgot my password.
Use “Forgot password” on the sign-in page — a reset code goes to your account email.
How do I contact support?
Email us at support@nimbuspages.com.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your whole account from your settings; it goes to the trash for 30 days before it’s permanently removed.
